In the men's doubles Michael Venus and Yuki Bhambri of India were defeated in the first round of the men's doubles.

In California the kiwi pair of Finn Reynolds and James Watt would have made the main draw of Wimbledon had they waited and signed in, however as the 13th alternate pair they competed at the Cary Challenger as defenging champions.

As top seeds Reynolds and Watt dropped one set on the way to final, however retaining the title proved a step too far.

The kiwi team lost to Finland's Patrik Niklas-Salminen and Korea's Nam Ji-sung 5-7, 7-5, 10-8.

They now play in the Hall of Fame Challenger on grass in Newport where they are the second seeds.
