The Black Sticks Women have named a 20-player squad for the next month's 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.


Held from 15–30 August, the FIH Hockey World Cup is the world's top 16 nations to compete for one of international hockey's most prestigious titles.

New Zealand secured qualification by winning the 2025 Oceania Cup in a spectacular contest against Australia and now shifting their focus towards competing against the world’s highest ranked teams.


The Black Sticks Women have been drawn into Pool C alongside Belgium, Spain and Ireland, with all matches to be played at the Belfius Hockey Arena in Wavre, Belgium.


The women will open their campaign against host nation Belgium before facing Ireland and Spain in what shapes as a highly competitive pool.


Head Coach Phil Burrows has selected a squad that combines experienced internationals and emerging players.
