New Zealand driver Liam Lawson has had one of his better days in Formula One with a points finish in the sprint race at the British Grand Prix and a top-10 in qualifying.


Lawson came home eighth in the sprint race which was won by Kimi Antonelli ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The kiwi finished ahead of Isack Hadjar as well as Pierre Gasly.

The 24-year-old will start 10th on the grid, after reaching the final session of qualifying his fourth consecutive top-10 start as well as,looking points in sixth consecutive race..


Lawson’s Q3 time – 1m 29.716s – was slower than in Q1 and Q2 and down on the 1m 28.927s he qualified for the sprint race, however he still qualified 10th and has a good chance for more points in a season which is proving fruitful.


Lawson’s Racing Bulls teammate Arvid Lindblad qualified ninth in his first home grand prix,


Mercedes’ Antonelli claimed pole position, and is joined on the front row by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. The pair’s teammates Hamilton and George Russell start third and fourth respectively,
