The New Zealand Tall Blacks have beaten Guam 129-75 in Auckland in their final World Cup Asian Qualifying round one game.


The Tall Black finished second in their group behind Australia who beat Philippines 92-49 in their last game.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Sam Mennenga, Taine Murray and Carlin Davison all posted their highest scores for the Tall Blacks.


Mennenga scored a game high 27 points, Murray 25 and Davison 16 points.


Reuben Te Rangi and Tohi Smith-Milner all got into double figures while Sam Timmins recorded a double-double 11 points and 10 rebounds.


The Tall Blacks now advance to the second round of World Cup Asian Qualifiers and will form Group E with all the results from the first round carried forward.


Group E includes of New Zealand, Australia, Philippines, Jordan, Iran and Syria with the next two fixtures being played in the August window.


New Zealand (4wins-2losses) will not meet Australia (6-0) and the Philippines (2-4) again but will play Jordon (5-1), Iran (5-1) and Syria (2-4) home and away.


The top three teams from Group E will automatically qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Qatar.
