Sun beaten in Miami, Reynolds, Watt lose in Spain

A tough couple of results for New Zealand tennis players in the United States and on the ATP Challenger Tour in Spain.
After two quality wins in qualifying Lulu Sun lost American wildcard Taylor Townsend 6-7(5) 3-6 in one of the many rain delayed first round matches at the WTA 1000 tournament.
LATEST HEADLINES:
The match lasted one hour 26 minutes with just one break of serve in the match as Townsend took advantage of Sun's serve just once.
The New Zealander had two chances to convert the break but couldn't do so.
The American had nine aces compared to Sun's seven while double faults were at a minimal for both players.
Sun is expected to move around eight places up the rankings to 103 as a result of qualifying.
Meanwhile fellow Kiwi Erin Routliffe and American Asia Muhammad will player veteran Venus Williams and Leylah Fernandez in the doubles first round at Miami.
Meanwhile on the Challenger Tour Finn Reynolds and James Watt both ranked at 81 in the world have lost their first round match at the big tournament at Murcia in Spain.
The top seeds were beaten by Spaniard Sergio Martos Gornes and India's Vejay Natajaran 7-6(4), 7-6(4).
