Pole vaulter Eliza McCartney has continued her good form in the build up to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games starting later this month.


McCartney, 29 finnished finished second at the Gyulai István Memorial meeting in Budapest clearing 4.80, the same height as Australian Nina Kenned, the Paris Olympics gold medallist, took the win on countback.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Fellow Kiwi Olivia McTaggart had to settle for fourth at 4.61m after several attempts at 4.70m before having to settle for fourth equal with a mark of 4.61m.


McCartney's excellent form comes with the pole vault competition at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games just over two weeks away.


Former Olympic medalist McCartney finished second at the Diamond League meeting in Paris three weeks ago


Tom Walsh was fourth in Budapest, in the men's shot put with a throw of 21.38m behind winner Leonardo Fabri of Italy with 22.04m.
