Hillier goes close, Fox down order, Garvey top-10

New Zealand golfer Daniel Hillier has finished in a tie for second at the British Masters on the Belfry course in Warwickshire.
Hillier came close to his 2023 title at the same tournament with a one-shot lead at the completion of the third round which finished on the final day of the tournament due to bad weather the previous day.

However in the fourth round Hillier bogeyed the fourth hole and had a double bogey on the sixth, but then later collected two birdies on the back nine to card a final round 73.
Hillier finished 11-under alongside Spain’s Nacho Elvira and the Danish duo of Jacob Skov Olesen and Niklas Norgaard, three shots behind Joe Dean of England who shot a final-round 63 to record his maiden DP World Tour victory.
Fellow kiwi Kazuma Kobori shot a final round 68 to finish in a share of ninth at nine-under.
It was Hillier’s fourth top five finish on the DP World Tour this season and sees the New Zealand Open champion move nine spots to 11th on the season standings.
At the PGA Tour Championship in Atlanta, Ryan Foxstruggled with his front nine with double bogeys on the first and sixth holes and bogeys at the third and ninth.
The back nine was slightly better with a bogey at the 14th, birdie at 15 and the 18th for a four-over 74 and 26th place and over $600,000 in prize money.
Four-tiem Major winner Scottie Scheffler took home the title at 16-under, three shots ahead of his nearest rival.
On the Ladies European Tour, New Zealand 26-year-old Amelia Garvey finished in a share of sixth at the Women’s Irish Open following a final round 66 to end the tournament at 13-under, seven shots off the lead.
