Ryan Fox explosive first round at Tour Championship

New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox drained an 11-foot putt for birdie on the third hole at TOUR Championship to help hold a position in the top 10 after the first round at East Lake Golf Club in Atanta.
Fox's tee shot on the 156-yard, par-3 15th hole landed on the right green 11 feet from the hole, and he made the 11-foot putt for birdie

After struggling in the first two PGA Tour playoffs events Fox made it into top-30 for the final event bogeyed his opening two holes.
He then holded for an eagle from 135 yards on the par-4 third to get back to even par for his round to improve with birdies on the sixth, 10, 11th, 15th, 17th and 18th holes. He had just two bogeys on the back nine.
“I didn’t hit a great tee shot off three but hung on the right edge of the fairway and I ended up with a pretty good number with a full sand wedge,” Fox said of his eagle.
“I was just trying to get myself a birdie putt after those first couple of holes and to see it go in, it kind of just settled everything down.
He finished the opening round at tied ninth at four-under just four shots from the leader, Australian, Min Woo Lee with Norway’s Viktor Hovland second after a six-under 66.
