Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox has qualified for the PGA Tour's season-ending tournament, however it was a close to make the cut..


Fox finished in a tie for 47th at the penultimate tournament - the BMW Championship at the Bellerive Coutnry Club, St Louis, Missouri.


LATEST HEADLINES:


The result means he ranked 30th in the FedEx Cup standings, with the top 30 getting to play this week's $67 million Tour Championship in Atlanta.


Fox started the BMW Championship in 25th position in the overall standings and during the final round jumped between 27th and 30th.


The Open Championship winner had to wait the last couple of hours of the tournament to learn his fate and thanks to some other results going his way he grabbed the last spot and will play the Tour Championship for the first time.


American Wyndham Clark won the BMW Championship.


American Scottie Scheffler takes the number one ranking into the FedEx play-offs.
