A career-best result for New Zealand tennis player Ajeet Rai from Taranaki.


Rai, 27 has won his biggest title with victory alongside doubles partner Alexandar Donski of Bulgaria at the ATP 125 Quebec City Chellenger in Canada.


LATEST HEADLINES:


They defeated the local pair of Duncan Chan and Justin Boulais by a 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 scoreline in one hour 22 minutes for the title.


It will take Davis Cup team member Rai to a new career-high ranking of 177, up almost 50 places.


The previous week Rai and countryman James Watt made the semifinals at the Brownsburg Challenger.
