A maiden ODI call-up for Northern Districts speedster Matt Fisher and the return of Jacob Duffy headline the New Zealand ODI side for the upcoming five-game tour of the West Indies starting on July 11 in Guyana.

The 26-year-old Fisher has a strong List A record with 43 wickets from 25 matches at an average of 26, and has already played one Test (v Zimbabwe, August 2025) and one T20I (v Bangladesh, April 2026)

LATEST HEADLINES:

Duffy, the reigning Sir Richard Hadlee Medal winner, is set to return to international cricket for the first time since the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final in March having missed the recent Test series in England to welcome the birth of his first child.

Joining Duffy and Fisher in the pace-bowling department will be Kristian Clarke, Ben Sears, and Nathan Smith.

Mitchell Santner will resume as white-ball captain and will be joined in the spin department by Michael Bracewell, Jayden Lennox and Dean Foxcroft, with Tom Latham the wicket-keeper.

Black Caps Head Coach Rob Walter said he was thrilled to welcome Duffy and Fisher back into the environment.

“It’s great to have Jacob and Matt joining the group and I know they’ll bring a lot of energy and excitement,” he said.

“It’s a nice opportunity to introduce Matt to the ODI group for the first time. He bowls with good pace and has been working hard on his variations to ensure he can bowl at different stages of the innings.

“Jacob has been a stand-out for us in all formats for the past couple of years. His skills and experience will be a great addition to our squad and I know he’s looking forward to representing New Zealand again.”

Central Districts spinner Lennox joins the squad for his third overseas white-ball tour following his successful debut series against India in January.

Bracewell and Mark Chapman also join the squad, adding nearly 250 international caps worth of experience between them.

Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, and Will O’Rourke will miss the series to rest after a heavy workload during the first half of 2026.

Blair Tickner will return home for scheduled surgery on his ankle and was unavailable for selection.

Devon Conway will miss the tour to spend time with his family after the birth of his second child during the England Test series.

As was pre-agreed with NZC, Rachin Ravindra will miss also miss the series to take part in Major League Cricket and was not available for selection.
