Black Caps win series over England

New Zealand have won the test series over England after wrapping up the home side quickly in their second innings at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
England slumped to 103-4 by the close of day four, leaving an inevitability about their chances of chasing 373. They were eventually all out for 212 giving the Black Caps a 180 victory. A perhaps fitting farewell for the retiring Ben Stokes.

The third test win was built on grit and determination after earlier stars Glenn Phillips and Matt Henry were out with injuries, Kane Williamson retired after the first test and Blair Tickner was concused in the first innings.
Nathan Smith continued his tight bowling on th efinal day finishing with 2-64 from 16 overs, Ben Sears had 1-12 from six overs and Mitch Santner chipped 2-54 from 14.2 overs.
There were two run outs on the final day, one of them very importnat as it was Joe Root out for 18 with Henry Nicholls in a superb slide and throw down direct hit..
The second run out saw Josh Tongue gone after another accurate throw from Santner in the field.
The Black Caps were the last visiting team to win a series here, in 2021, and now the 2026 side led by Tom Latham are the first tourists to win a series of three or more Tests in this country in 14 years.
