SVG King of the Road again in NASCAR

New Zealand driver Shane van Gisbergen continues to be king of the road courses in NASCAR.
He won the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma in California despite being under pressure from Chase Briscoe over the closing laps.

Van Gisbergen started sixth on the grid and was up to second after just a few laps before grabbing the lead a third of the way through the 110 lap race.
He held his position from Briscoe in a repeat of last year's race to score his eighth win from 68 starts in NASCAR and seventh win from the last nine road courses.
While he was favourite for the event it was an encouraging result for SVG after he failed to finish in San Diego last week.
"I was certainly pissed at the beginning of the week but this well and truly makes up for it, pretty special to win," van Gisbergen said following the race.
He admits it was a hard fought win as his Trackhouse Racing car started to struggle with tyres.
"We had these shit-boxes come out in front and they were wobbling all over the track and putting dust (up) and I just kept struggling. Chase (Briscoe) was really good and a couple more laps we would have had some problems."
It is van Gisbergen's second win of the season after victory in New York in May and fourth top five finish.
