The Black Ferns Sevens will play a one-off match against the Australian Women’s Sevens team ahead of the Bledisloe Cup Test at Accor Stadium in Sydney on Saturday, October 17.


It will mark the first time an international Sevens fixture has been played before an All Blacks Test and an opportunity supported by Black Ferns Sevens Head Coach Cory Sweeney.

“It will be a special occasion to be a part of the Bledisloe Cup event, and an opportunity to showcase the game of Sevens on one of rugby’s biggest stages and add another chapter to our rich trans-Tasman rugby rivalry,” said Sweeney.


The Black Ferns Sevens will play Australian Women at 4.25pm NZT, before an epic day of international rugby live and exclusive on Sky, culminates with the All Blacks v Wallabies Bledisloe Cup Test kicking off at 6.00pm NZT.


The innovative schedule also includes an international Sevens fixture between the Australia and Fiji men’s teams, as well as a women’s WXV Global Series Test between the Wallaroos and Scotland.
