Coll starts new squash season defending title

New Zealand squash pro Paul Coll will defend his London Squash Classic crown with the Gold-level PSA event signalling the return of big tournaments after the summer break.
Held at the world-renowned Alexandra Palace in London Coll leads a strong men’s field which features nine of the world’s top 20 ranked players.

The West Coaster has a top record on UK soil, with a third of his 33 PSA Tour titles coming in the country – the most recent of which came in Birmingham at the British Open.
The highest seed in Coll's half of the draw is Egypt’s Aly Abou as the fourth ranked player entered.
Coll will face 37th ranked Sam Todd of England in his opening match as he aims to defend his title won over Welchman Joel Makin last year.
The last tournament played by Coll was the PSA Squash Tour Finals in June where he was beaten by Peru's Diego Elias in a marathon final.
