Lawson in Red Bull drivers seat at Italian Grand Prix

Reward for New Zealand's Liam Lawson with confirmation he will again replace Isack Hadjar at Red Bull in the Italian Grand Prix as the Frenchman continues his recovery from a wrist injury.
Lawson stepped in at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort, where he took home points for the squad in P7 on race day.

Now the kiwi will get a second opportunity with the team as Hadjar is set to sit out another round while his rehabilitation continues.
Yuki Tsunoda, is set to fill Lawson’s Racing Bulls seat for a second weekend, giving the Japanese driver another outing after losing his spot on the grid at the end of 2025.
A statement from Red Bull said “Liam will drive alongside Max [Verstappen] at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, while Isack continues to make encouraging progress following the wrist injury sustained during the summer break.
“The team is closely monitoring his rehabilitation and will take no unnecessary risks with his return to competition and wishes him a speedy recovery.”
Lawson admitted that it had been “challenging” to adapt to the RB22 within a limited timescale but was left feeling positive about his performance.
