The Black Caps have won the second ODI against England with a convincing five wicket series vicotry in Hamilton with 101 balls to spare.


The victory came thanks to a four wicket haul by Blair Tickner who was back in the ODI side after a few years abscence and another consistent performance from Daryl Mitchell with 56 not out.


LATEST HEADLINES:


England batted first and were dimissed in the 36th over for just 175 as Jamie Overton again led the batting with 42 runs from 28 balls featuring four fours and two sixes.


Captain Harry Brook made 34 from 34 and Joe Root 25. Other than that it was slim pickings.


Tickner took 4-34 from eight overs wrapping up the innings while Nathan Smith had 2-27 from five. Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes, Mitch Santner and Michael Bracewell all took a wicket each.


At batt the New Zealand side started badly withWill Young out for no score befoe Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson steadied the innings.


Ravindra 54 from 54 including sevne fours and one six. Williamson made 21.


Mitchell then took over and did his usual grafting to start before opening up; and taking control of the game. Mitchell was joined by Santner after Bracewell was out. The captain his a frantic 34 from 17 balls - two sixes and three fours.


The third ODI is in Wellinton on Saturday.
