West Indies deal to Black Caps batters

The Black Caps are 231-9 at the end of day one of the first test against the West Indies at Hagley Oval.
The Windies bowlers kept the home side in check with only Kane Williamson notching a 102 ball 52 runs and Micahel Bracewell 47 from 73.

The day didn't start well for the home side with both Daryl Mitchell and Mitchell Santner failing fitness tests leaving the lineup a little out of form and short on fight
Despite losing Devon Conway in the opening over for a duck, Tom Latham and Williamson steadied the innings putting together a 92-run partnership.
Williamson survived seeing his bails sent flying on 33 after Ojay Shields was shown to have overstepped.
However the former captain was soon caught behind followed quickly by Latham for 24, Rachin Ravindra and Will Young.
Tom Blundell was bowled by Ojay Shields for 29, while Nathan Smith managed a fighting 23 before was out to John Campbell.
New Zealand have just one wicket it hand with Zak Foulkes and Jacob Duffy both unbeaten on four.
