Black Caps ODI series victory v West Indies

A late batting surge has taken the Black Caps to a five wicket win with three balls to spare over the West Indies in the second One Dayer in Napier.
In a match set at 34 overs due to rain New Zealand decided to field as the Windies made 247-9 as captain Shai Hope smashed 109 from 69 balls.

In reply the Black Caps made 248-5 to claim their 11th successive home series.
Initially the Windies were powerful but dropped wickets along the way as Hope took over and clobbered four sixes and 13 fours before the lower order added 22 by Justin Greaves, another 22 from Romario Shepherd and Matthew Forde blasting 21 to finish 247-9 at a run rate of 7.26.
Kyle Jamieson knocked off the top of the order taking 3-44 while Nathan Smith dealt to the middle with 4-42. Blair Tickner took 1-61 from six overs and Mitchell Santner was economic taking 1-35 fromseven overs.
In respnoe there was an opening stance of 106 for New Zealand as Rachin Ravindra made 56 and Devon Conway eventually 90 from 84 balls however he saw Will Y0oung go for 11 in a continuation of his lack of form.
Mark Chapman went for a big shot and was out for a duck bring Tom Latham to the wicket.
Latham took a while to get going while Michael Bracwell went for 11.
When Santner came to the wicket the home side needed 54 from 29 balls. He went on to blast 34 from 15 playing another cameo role to take the side to victory.
The third and final ODI is Saturday in Hamilton.
