The Black Caps have won the third game of the T20 series against the West Indies with a nine run victory in Nelson, holding off a late chase the the visitors batters.


New Zealand scored 177-9 in their 20 overs before the Windies staged a late chase to befor being dismissed 168 in 19.5 overs to lead the series 2-1


LATEST HEADLINES:


It looked like a one-sided result towards the Black Caps with teh West Indies 88-8 after 12.3 overs.


Romario Shepherd and Shamar Springer then set about hitting out with 78 from 39 ball in the ninth wicket stand.


Shepherd eventually went for 49 from 34 balls includin four fours and three sixes and and Springer made 39 from 20 balls with three fours and three sixes.


Ish Sodhi was the best of the home side bowlers take 3-34 from four overs and Jacob Duffy 3-36. Mitchell Santner, Michael Bracewell and Kyle Jamieson all took one wicket each.


Jamieson bowled the final over taking the wicket of Shepherd and going for just two runs.


Earlier in the New Zealand innings Devon Conway had his best score of the series with 56 from 34 balls before run out. Fellow opener Tim Robinson made 23 and Rachin Ravindra 26.


Daryl Mitchell chimed in with 41 from 23 balls feautring three sixes and two fours. However he was the last batter to make any impract.


Bracewell fell for 11, James Neesham two, Santner four, Mitch Hay two, Jamieson four while Sodhi and Duffy wer one and two not out.


Game four of the T20 series is tomorrow at the same venue.
