The Black Caps have reversed the result from game one 24 hours earlier at Eden Park to win the second T20 against the West Indies at the same venue by three runs.

The home side batted first and proved to be a real hit and miss as Tim Robinson made 39 from 25 and Devon Conway had a start to score 16 but then fell out of sorts as he struggled in his 24 batlls.

LATEST HEADLINES:

Rachin Ravindra was similar to Conway making 11 from 15 before Mark Chapman cam in and almost immediately cut loose.

The 31-year-old left-hnader hit seven sixes and six fours in his 78 from 28 balls and possibly silenced some of his critics. Other batters such as Daryl Mitchell (28) and Michae Bracewell (5) had to watch from the other end.

Mitchell Santner did his part with 18 runs from eight balls including a couple of sixes as the innins concluded at 207-5.

The only problem was that the West Indies had the same intent. They stared slow as captain Shai Hope made 24 and Brandon King no score with Alick Athanaze 33.

Ackeem Auguste was out for seven and Jason Holder 16 before Rovman Powell hit 45 from just 16 batlls including six siexes and one four.

Not to be outdone Romario Shepher collected 34 and Matthew Forde 29 - a 47 run partnership from 18 balls.

However Kyle Jamieson put in a late bowling display with a slower ball to hold the the Windies attack and figures of 1-51. Jacob Duffy took 1-21 from his four overs while Ish Sodhi and Santner had three wickets each as the West Indies finished 204-8

The third T 20 is in Nelson on Sunday afternoon.
