The New Zealand doubles duo of Finn Reynolds and James Watt may have lost their latest final, this time at the Matsuyama Challenger in Japan. .


Reynolds and Watt were beaten by Marc-Andrea Huesler from Switzerland and Garrett Johns (United States) 6-3 6-4 in the final.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Leading up tot he final the Kiwi duo had dropped just one set all week and had looked strong as a combination.


It was the 10th Challenger final of 2025 for a record of five titles and five losses in finals.


Reaching the finals means the rankings of Rynolds will improve to 87 and Watt to 89, both career hights.


The result pushes them even closer to direct entry into the Austrlian Open 2026.


Reynolds and Watt are top seeds at the Kobe Challenger this week.
