Points for the Wellington Phoenix teams away at Brisbane with the men's team beating the high-flying Roar 3-nil.

The win came despite being down to 10 men from the 35th minute on when Carlo Armiento was sent from the field in an all-in scuffle.

The Phoenix’s striker Ifeanyi Eze was the most significant presence on the park, scoring the first goal inside six minutes and creating the second for Kasuki Nagasawa just before the hour mark.

The third goal came for Paolo Retre after Luke Brooke-Smith broke free and kept his head and flicked the ball on.

It was the fourth win of the season for the Nix and now has them on 14 points in ninth overall, but closer to the top six

The women's side drew 2-2 with Brooke Nunn scoring the equaliser in the 98th minute after a cross deceived everyone and helped the Nix women's team gain its first point ever in Queensland.

Wellington’s opener came through a bit of quick thinking from Manaia Elliott as she caught Chloe Lincoln out of position from 40 yards.

Elliott took the chance to shoot from distance when Momo Hayashi was caught in possession. Her shot skidded off the turf, onto the post and into the back of the net in the 15th minute.

They now sit fifth on the points table, one point off the top four.
