After taking out the NSW Cup last week, coach David Tangata-Toa kept the same 17 and they proved too powerful for the Queensland champions, piling on 24 consecutive points to snatch control of the contest early.

Winger Setu Tu, fullback Taine Tuaupiki and five-eighth Luke Hanson finished with two tries each, while halfback Tanah Boyd scored 18 points and provided four try assists.

At times Boyd appeared to have total control of the ball leading the play throughout the game.

Boyd claimed player of the match honours with his four try assists on top of scoring a try and kicking seven from nine conversions.

Fellow former Bear Taine Tuaupiki was another standout performer, running for 268 metres and scoring two tries.
