The New Zealand pair of Finn Reynolds and James Watt have won the doubles title at the ATP Challenger tournament in Tiburon, California.

In the final, they beat the all-American pairing of Benjamin Kittay and Joshua Sheehy 6-2 6-3 in just over an hours play.

They raced to a 4-0 lead in the opening set before the American duo eventually got on the scoreboard.

It wasn’t until the eighth game of the next set that they were able to get another break, but they then held serve to seal the victory and claim the title.

The result is a reverse of the previous week in Las Vegas where Kittay and Sheehy beat the New Zealanders in the final

It is the fourth ATP Challenger Tour doubles title for Reynolds and Watt and means they move closer to breaking into the doubles top 100.

When next updated Reynolds is predicted to be at 104 in the world and Watt at 110.

These would be career high rankings for both players.
