Warriors NRLW over Eels, but only just

Drama a the end of the NRLW league clash at Sydney's Eric Tweedale Stadium between the Warriors and the Eels.
The Sydney side believed they had scored a match-winning try after the hooter to beat the Warriors.

In the dying seconds the Eels looked to have stolen the game as Zali Fay went over in the left corner after an overlap but the officials ruled the final pass was forward and the home side's celebrations turned to sour - the Warriors winning 14-12.
The visitors were out on the feet - having played the last five minutes with 12 players after a late sin-binning for a cynical offside infringement.
They had to do it in the hard way, after being down 12-4 in the 40th minute with just one try to Payton Takimoana.
They fought back to a take a two point lead but then things went awry as they lost Metanoia Fetalaiga to the bin with four minutes to go and the Eels started to make big inroads against a struggling defence.
Patricia Maliepo andTysha Ikenasio scored tries in the early stages of the second half to take charge on the scoreboard.
The Eels had the better of the Warriors in field possession (52 per cent) and completion (88 per cent) compared to the Warriors 70 per cent but it was the Warriors strike power that came out on top int he end.
The visitors had 507 post contact metres compared to the eels 377, three more line breaks and six more tackle breaks.
The win lifts the Ron Griffiths coach Warriors into provisional third on the ladder.
