Warriors beaten in top-contest by Dolphins

The Dolphins have outlasted the Warriors in a thrilling top-four affair at Suncorp Stadium, snatching a 26-24 victory in the dying moments of the contest.
In a a game worthy of its top-four billing the Dolphins went into the game on the back of seven straight victories, while tthe Warriors had won seven of their last nine going into the contest.

The Warriors have had to overcome injury after injury in 2026, losing Jackson Ford last weekend to a pectoral injury, joining the likes of Tanah Boyd, James Fisher-Harris, Leka Halasima and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck on the sidelines.
The visitors made a great start to the game when halfback Te Maire Martin forced Cobbo to knock on as the winger tried to ground the ball. Prop Tanner Stowers-Smith cthen hased down Dolphins Kodi Nikorima and forced him to ground the ball on the touch line as he tried to score a try.
The Dolphins did open the scoring through Cobbo, but the Warriors hit back from thanks to front rower Jacob Laban to take the lead inside the opening 10 minutes, then extend that through a Dallin Watene-Zelezniak try.
The Dolphins scored twice before halftime for a 16-12 lead and then extended the score with a second to Isaako early in the second half.
But then the Warriors fought back again through a try to Nicoll-Klokstad brought them closer, before a bold call from Healey to go alone from dummy half on the final play from close range looked to be the winning moment.
Instead, a loose ball fell the way of the Dolphins, and Cobbo finished off.
