Pia Vlok, Sam Cosgrove claim A-League honours

Wellington Phoenix teen Pia Vlok has been named the Young Footballer of the Year for the women's A-League while Auckland FC's Sam Cosgrove shared the men's Golden Boot Award.
Seventeen-year-old Vlok was nominated for the award at the end of a breakout rookie campaign after a starring role in her sides run to the Grand Final.
Vlok joined the Nix in 2025 after playing in the New Zealand national league for Auckland United and hasn't looked back.
She scored six goals during the regular season to share the club's golden boot with Brooke Nunn, while also contributing four assists.
Cosgrove shared the men's Golden Boot with Adelaide United's Luka Jovanović after scoring 11 goals each..
Isabel Gomez of Central Coast Mariners and Juan Mata of Melbourne Victory won the top individual honours.
Gomez played for the Phoenix between 2021 and 2023.
English forward Nunn was voted the women's playmaker of the year. She had seven assists during the season for the Phoenix and also scored six goals.
