Rising Silver Ferns star defender Catherine Hall is in doubt for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after suffering a ankle injury.


The Mystics goal keep or goal defender has been ruled out of the remainder of netball’s ANZ Premiership after limping from the court late in the round five victory over the Pulse in Wellington.

Hall, 22 had surgery earlier this week and will miss the remaining four rounds, plus finals of the Premiership.


Netball New Zealand released a statement on her injury, “Catherine Hall is currently in rehabilitation with the Silver Ferns Performance team. She is working closely with medical staff and is being well supported. Her rehabilitation plan is in its initial planning phase, and we will provide an update when appropriate.”


Silver Ferns coach Dame Noeline Taurua names her Commonwealth Games squad in mid-June, after the ANZ Premiership regular season has concluded.


Hall has been the standout defender in 2026, leading the competition across the majority of the stats. The Mystics are third on the points ladder behind the Tactix and Steel.


The Commonwealth Games starts for the Silver Ferns against hosts Scotland in Glasgow on July 25.


the Mystics next game is Sunday 24 May at home against the Pulse.
