Van Gisbergen claims fourth Nascar win

New Zealand's Shane van Gisbergen has won his fourth race of the NASCAR season at the Trackhouse Racing at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval,
Only Denny Hamlin with five has more victories in the season. .

Thirty-six-year-old van Gisbergen started second on the grid, but finished 15 seconds ahead of Kyle Larson with Christopher Bell third.
Van Gisbergen had already been eliminated from the NASCAR play-off series which is now down to eight drivers.
His Trackhouse Racing team-mate Ross Chastain was eliminated from the play-off series today.
It is van Gisbergen's fifth consecutive road or street race victory spanning back to last year.
The vctory adds to van Gisbergen's wins at Watkins Glen, Chicago, Sonoma and Mexico City.
He is now one win from tying Jeff Gordon's record of six consecutive road or street course wins (which was set in 1999-2000).
"What an awesome race, Kyle (Larson) and Christopher (Bell) driving really good and got a little rough. But man, the battle was awesome. And we had a fast Chevy. I lost it a little bit at the start of Stage 3 and whatever they did for the rest of the race. Unbelievable. Really enjoyed that and was a long time<' said van Gisbergen after the race.
"Waiting, hoping the yellow wasn’t going to come out. I got (Larson) in a little bump at (Turn) 7 by accident, and he just slammed me, and that sort of set it off. But it was fun. I hope he’s not too pissed off. But I hope it was good to watch, too.”
SVG, who already holds the record for most Cup wins by a foreign-born driver, will have his next shot at history in the March 1, 2026 race at Circuit of the Americas.
There are five rounds remaing in this year's championship, with the next race in Las Vegas at the weekend.
Those still in contention for the title heading into the round of eight are Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Hamlin, Larson, Bell, William Byron, Chase Briscoe and Chase Elliott.
