The New Zealand doubles pair of Finn Reynolds and James Watts have lost their semifinal match at the ATP's Chile Open in Santiago.


They were beaten by Ariel Behar from Uruguay and Australian Matthew Romos 7-6(3) 6-3 in one hour 22 minutes.

While most stats were close in the match the Kiwi team weren't able to break there opponents serve in two opportunities they had. Whereas the South American and Australian completed one break of serve in the match from four chances.


It is the best result on the ATP Tour for the New Zealand pair who are likely to rise to new ranking high of 85 for Reynolds and 86 for Watt.


Meanwhile fellow New Zealand Davis Cup team members Anton Shepp and Isaac Becroft are in the final of the Futures tournament in Monastir, Tunisia.


Earlier Shepp had singles quarterfinals and Becroft the second round.


Shepp has two doubles Futures titles to his credit in Sweden in 2025 and three finals including Tauranga and Wellington. Becroft also has two doubles titles.
