A dramatic finish in the Super Smash clash with Northern Districts men and the Volts drawing their contest at Bay Oval.


The home side batted first and scored 166-6 - the top four all making double figures but it was Scott Keggeleijn down the order with 34 not out from 12 balls including three fours and two sixes.

The allrounders effort took the total over the 150 mark.


Jeet Ravel made 23 and Ben Pomare 20. Ben Lockrose was the best of the Volts bowlers taking 2-24.


In their chance at bat the Volts had a consistent start as every batter made their mark, but it was Max Chu who stole the show.


The wickerkeeper made 64 not out from 42 with five fours and one six and played smart cricket.


However the final delivery was bowled to Luke Georgeson who played Henry Cooper for one run to tie the scores.


The Northern Brave have beaten the Sparks by 24 runs in their women's Super Smash T20 game in Mount Maunganui


Northern scored 138, Nensi Patel top scoring with 36. PJ Watkins took 2-12, Chloe Deerness 2-16 and Louisa Kotkamp 2-28.


In reply the Sparks were bowled out for 114 in the 19th over as Olivia Gain made 36 runs.


Northern's best bowler was Lucy Boucher with 4-16 from four overs.
