Lawson takes points at Canadian Grand Prix

New Zealand driver Liam Lawson has had a significant improvement over the weekend at F1's Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
He barely started the one practice race and didn't finish. He was 11th in the sprint race, qualified 12th for the main race before finishing in the points in seventh.

He made an early gain off the line, climbing up several places on the opening lap after starting on medium tires.
Lawsoni later switched to softs and held off a late charge from Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, who Lawson collided with during the last race in Miami, to secure seventh.
The 24-year-old was also one of four drivers investigated for an alleged yellow flag infringement following a complicated start procedure, with the matter to be reviewed after the race.
His seventh-place finish saw him earn six championship points and will keep him inside the top 10 of the World Drivers' Championship standings.
The race was won by Mercedes Kimi Antonelli after George Russell had to retire from the race. Lewis Hamilton was second with Max Verstappen third.
