Lawson starts Japanese GP out of top 10

New Zealand driver Liam Lawson is set to start 14th for Formula 1's Japanese Grand Prix at the Suzuka Circuit.
Kimi Antonelli will start from pole position, his second pole in a row, after the Chinese Grand Prix, which he won convincingly.

Four-time world champion Max Verstappen, undefeated in Japan qualifying since 2019, but unable to navigate his "undrivable" car into the top 10. He'll start 11th.
Twenty-four-year-old Lawson driving for Racing Bulls has also had trouble getting power out of his car at times. He finished eighth, 12th and 12th in the first three practices in Japan.
Lawson earned his first points of the season at the Chinese Grand Prix, with top-10 finishes in both the sprint and the grand prix. He's on eight points, in ninth place
