Dame Lydia Ko has missed the cut at the LPGA tournament at Hoakalei Country on Oahu Island in Hawaii, but there's better news for Daniel Hillier

Ko improved her round by a shot to be two-under after two rounds. She started tied 49th and with birdies on the 11th and 13th holes but double bogeyed the 16th before a birdie on the 18th.

On the front nine she went blemish free. However two-under was not good enough to remain in the tournament with three-under the cut mark.

Meanwhile at the Alfred Dunhill Links tournament on the DP Tour at St Andrews Hillier is tied ninth at eight-under.

Hillier birdied the fourth, sixth and ninth holes before four more birdies in the back nine with just the one blemish on the 18th.

Fellow New Zealander Nick Voke is at two-under

The leading player in the tournament is South African Casey Jarvis at 11-under, one shot ahead of three others.
