Kiwi golfers need big second round pushes

Both Lydia Ko and Ryan Fox are in need of some low scoring in the second round of their respective tournament in the United States and England.


Ko is the defending champion at the Kroger Queen City Championship in Ohio but is off the pace after the first round.


LATEST HEADLINES:


She carded a two-under 70 featuring one bogey and three birdies to be tied 45th.


However the rest of the field shot low with Thailand's Chanette Wannasaen nine-under.


On the DP World Tour at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in Surrey 2023 champion Ryan Fox could be in toruble with the cut.


Fox is tied 106th at one over after carding a 73 first round with four bogeys and three birdies.


The best of the New Zealanders at the tournament is Daniel Hillier at four-under tied 17th.


He hit just the one bogey early on and then five birdies.


Kazuma Kobori is just a shot furhter back and tied 33rd.


The leaders after the first round are Ludvig Aberg of Sweden and Frenchman Tom Vaillant at eight-under.
