Foy wins gold in para cycling, NZ other medals too

Para cyclist Emma Foy and pilot Jessie Hodges also gained a gold medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games but only after plenty of drama.
The pair fell behind Australia in the best-of-three sprint format in the tandem B spring at the velodrome, and were then involved in a crash with their rivals at the start of the second race.

After medical checks and track inspection, the Kiwis won the re-race and then commanded the deciding race for gold.
Shot putter Tom Walsh narrowly missed a winning hattrick.
He took victory at Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022, but was beaten in the penultimate round by Nigerian Chukwuebuka Enekwechi.
Walsh threw 21.08m with his final attempt to sit in front, after leading from the first round, however couldn't improve on his 21.03m effort to start the competition.
Nigerian Chukwuebuka Enekwechi won the gold with 21.07m.
The women's team pursuit took silver behind Australia, while para-cyclist Nicole Murray and the men's pursuiters and para sprinter Anna Grimaldi all took bronze.
Murray briefly held the world record for the newly introduced 4000m individual pursuit for her C5 classification, but lost it to an Australian rival.
