An even-par 71 has Dame Lydia Ko sitting at tied 26th after the first round of the Women's British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes


Ko, 29 hit birdies on the fifth and sixth holes, but bogeyed the eigtht in the front nine.


LATEST HEADLINES:


On the back nine their were bogeys on the 12th and 13th, however she rescued her round with a birdie on the 18th hole.


Ko won the tournament in 2024, the third Major title of her career.


At the top of the leaderboard is Thailand's Jeeno Thitkul at seven-undwer, two shots ahead of Shiho Kuwaki (Japan) and Haeran Ryu (Korea)
