Kolkata made 147-2 in their chase of 142-8 with 34 balls spare.

Allen was 17 of 20 balls - before thumping 83 of his next 27, finishing with five fours and 10 sixes in his total of 100 not.

"Strategy was to get in a good position and bat deep. That's my model, stay in when it's tough, give myself a chance.

I've got a few starts, frustrating not to carry on, nice to have some personal success. When the situation comes, you forget about your batting and focus on the situation," said Allen.

Aussie Cameron Green was left 33 not out.
