The New Zealand Breakers have confirmed guard Preston Le Gassick will join the club on a two-year deal.

The deal will see the 23-year-old part of the Breakers roster for the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season, with a team option for the 2027-28 campaign.

"I am incredibly honoured to be joining the Breakers,” Le Gassick said.

“Growing up in a household with a Kiwi mother, I’ve always felt a strong connection to New Zealand.

"Playing with Reuben Te Rangi last year gave me a great insight into the level of professionalism required to succeed at this level.

“I’m ready to bring my energy and my shooting to help this team win a championship."

Le Gassick had a standout collegiate career at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida, and a strong stint with NBL1 North outfit, the Gold Coast Rollers.

During his most recent NBL1 campaign, the guard averaged 21.3 points and 5.8 assists per game, while converting on 38.3 per cent of his triples.

"Preston is a sharpshooter proven he can score at a high volume,” Breakers President of Basketball Operations Dillon Boucher said.

"He is a rising star who we want to bring into our high-performance environment and develop his talent.

“He impressed me with his outstanding character and work ethic.”

Le Gassick, whose father Brendan played in the NBL for four seasons with Gold Coast and Townsville, joins a Breakers squad that already consists of Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Sam Mennenga, newly signed Dejan Vasiljevic, Reuben Te Rangi and Izayah Le’Afa.
