One win to Wellington, one for Central Districts in the first completed Super Smash games of the season.


The Wellington Blaze took out the women's contest by 18 runs after scoring 136-5 and then dismissing the Central Hinds for 118 with a ball to spare.

Amelia Kerr was key for the Blaze making 34 from 34 balls including six fours as well as taking 2-22 and a catch.


Fellow Blaze opener Georgia Plimmer made 39 from 29 balls also hitting six fours.


The Hinds had some scoring during the middle of their innings with Hannah Rowe making 15 Flora Devonshire 34 and Kerry Tomilson 19.


Jess Kerr, Maitlan Brown, Xara Jetley and Nicole Baird all took a wicket each while Jess Simons took 2-15 from two overs plus there was one run out.


The men's contest had the Firebirds batting first and making 118-7 as the experienced Dane Cleaver decided to hit out making 95 from 53 balls including 17 fours and four sixes.


Internationals Will Young and Josh Clarkson both scored in the 20's as Ben Sears took 3-34 in a return to play for the Wellington side.


At bat the capital team made 142 all out in the 18th over.as Ajaz Patel did the damage taking 4-21 from four overs.


Tom Blundell opened for the Firebirds making 31 while Muhammad Abbas was top-scorer with 36 from 23 with two four and two sixes. But there was never enough partnerships to challenge the CD total.
