New Zealand golfer Ben Campbell has picked up where he left off at the Asian Tour's Hong Kong Open.
Defending champion Campbell fired a seven-under 63 in the first round at the Hong Kong Country Club on Thursday, settling into a three-way tie for second, one stroke behind the leader, Thai Nitithorn Thippong.

Campbell made eight birdies - four on each nine - while his lone bogey came at the par-four 11th, one of only three greens in regulation missed. He hit 14-of-14 fairways and had 10 one-putt greens.
Teeing off in the early wave from the 11th hole, the 33-year-old opened with a bogey but his round only went up from there.
He made the turn at two-under after birdies at the 13th, 14th and 18th holes, then picked up strokes at the first, second, sixth, seventh and 10th. Campbell tees off his second round from the first at 11.45am local time (4.45pm NZ Time).
Conversely, fellow Kiwi Shane Kuiti made just one birdie, along with six bogeys, in a five-over 75 on Thursday to sit 127th.
At the season-ending LPGA Tour Championship, Lydia Ko is three shots off the lead after the opening round on Thursday (Friday NZT).
World No 4 Ko carded a five-under 67 that featured six birdies and a bogey at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, to lie in a six-way share of fifth, trailing the leader, South Korean Narin An.
The 27-year-old made three birdies in a five-hole stretch on the front-nine, along with a bogey, before another birdie at the ninth hole to make the turn at three-under. She added birdies at the 11th and 17th holes.
Ko, who hit 14-of-14 fairways and 13-of-18 greens in regulation, tees off her second round on Friday at 11.55am local time (5.55am Saturday NZT).
Meanwhile, Nick Voke is the highest-placed Kiwi golfer after the first round of the Australian PGA Championship on Thursday.
Voke closed his round with four straight birdies at the Royal Queensland Golf Club to sign for a three-under 68, sitting in a logjam tied for 14th, three shots back of the leader, Australian Elvis Smylie.
The 30-year-old was at one-over following a second straight bogey at the 14th hole before his putter got hot. Overall, he coupled seven birdies with four bogeys on a sunny day in Brisbane.
Kazuma Kobori and Denzel Ieremia are the next-best Kiwis at two-under, tied for 32nd, with both posting four birdies and two bogeys, while Josh Geary and Daniel Hillier are in a share of 52nd at one-under.
Further down the field, Kerry Mountcastle managed a one-over 72 to be tied for 91st, while James Hydes sits in 110th at two-over, and Tyler Wood and Sam Jones in 141st at four-over.
