Black Caps primed for 3rd test win over Windies

The Black Caps have to take 10 wickets. The West Indies need to score a further 419 runs or bat out a whole final day of the test series at Bay Oval at Mt Maunganui.


The visitors were dismissed for 420 a total of 155 behind the home sides first innings total. Their final four wickets going quickly with Jacob Duffy taking two, Ajaz Patel one and Michael Rae the other.


Kaven Hodge left not out 123 from 275 balls.


LATEST HEADLINES:


At bat in the second innings Tom Latham put on 192 as Devon Conway became the first New Zealander and the 10th overall to score a double hundred and hundred in the same test.


He was dismissed for 100 while Latham made 101.. Kane Williamson was left not out 40 from 37 balls with Rachin Ravinda smashing 46 from 23 balls including four sixes, three of them in one Roston Chase over.


The Black Caps declared at 306-2 leaving the West Indies 462 to win and jsut over a day and a bit to do so.


There were a few nervous moments for the Windies but Brandon King set about the task hitting sevne fours in his 37 not out while John Campbell was not out two from 50 balls.


The first test was drawn while New Zealand won the second.
