New Zealand has a lead of 41 runs at the completion of day two of the second test against the West Indies at the Basin Reserve.


After scoring 278 in their first innings, a lead of 73 the Black Caps had the visitors 32-2 at the end of the second day.


LATEST HEADLINES:


The home sides innings could have and should have been bigger but wickets fell at regular intervals.


Tom Latham was out for 11 before Devon Conway looked measure until a loose shot on a loose ball saw him out for 60.


Kane Williamson also looked reassured before being bowled by Anderson Phillip for 37.


Rachin Ravindra was out for five and Daryl Mitchell 25.


In his first test Mitchell Hay top-scored with 61 from 93 balls with nine fours and a six.


Glenn Phillips was in late and made 18 but went for a big shot to be caught by Phillip bowled by Roston Chase.


Zak Foulkes added 23 not out, Jacob Duffy 11 from 13 balls and Micahel Rae was the last to go with13 from 11 balls.


Blair Tickner did not bat as a result of his dislocated shoulder but did appear at the ground


The Windeis lost John Campbell for 14 to Rae and Phillip out lbw to Duffy to start their second innings.
