The Windies started reasonably well before losing the first wicket of Brandon King at 66 and then had Kaven Hodge go for a duck, both to Blair Tickner who eventually took 4-32 from 16 overs.

Shai Hope made 48 while opener John Campbell made 44 as wickets fell in regular intervals as Micahel Rae took 3-67 from 18 overs on his debut and the returning Glenn Phillips took one along with a Jacob Duffy dismissing Ojay Shields.

There was also one run out with Anderson Phillip out via Devon Conway and Kristian Clarke as sub.

The only issue for the Black Caps was Tickner potentially dislocating his shoulder in a fielding incident late in the day and is likely to remain absent for the rest of the test, let alone the third match.

Meanwhile New Zealand are 24 without loss with Tom Latham on seven and Devon Conway 16 trailing by 181 runs on the West Indies first innings.
