Two wins for Central Districts over Wellington

Central Districts have escaped the Basin Reserve with two victories over Wellington in Super Smash cricket.
In the women's game the CD Hinds made 154-6, in reply the Blaze scored 149-5. for the visitors to win by five runs.

The Hinds best batters were Bryony Smith opening with 56 runs followed by 30 each from Grace Scrivers and Emma McLeod.

The men's contest had the Stags win by two runs after they put on a score of 197-3.
Dane Cleaver hit 67 from 45 with eight fours and one six out of the ground which saw a pedestrian snaffle the ball.
Dean Foxcroft made 44 at the top of the order while Tom Bruce was back in the country and also hit big with 55 not out
Black Caps test wickerkeepter Tom Blundell hit 63 off 37 including losing a ball outside of the ground. He was ably supported by Muhammad Abbas with 46 from 36 and Logan van Beek scored a quick fire 38 off 19.
Angus Schaw was the best of the CD bowleers with 2-22 form four overs while Brett Randell had figures of 2-37 from his four overs.
