New Zealand driver Scott Dixon isn't getting carried away about getting back on the Indycar podium


Dixon, 45 finished third at the latest round in Long Beach, California to end a run of nine races without a top-three finish for the all-time podium leader.

The Ganassi driver secured his 156th career podium after a late pit stop move lifted him to third


Dixon took advantage of a caution fpr debris on Lap 57s that set up the last round of pit stops two laps later.


The stop allowed his pit crew to switch him to the softer alternate tires - to vault up to third.


Although he pressured pole-sitter Felix Rosenqvist for second place he was unable to mount a proper challenge.


The race was won by Alex Palou who sits top of the overall driver standings. Dixon is eighth


Team Penske driver Scott McLaughlin was sixth at Long Beach and seventh on the standings while the third Kiwi in the race Marcus Armstrong finished down the order in 24th and is 13th overall.
