Routliffe eases into US Open doubles second round

New Zealand tennis pro, Erin Routliffe has won her first round of women's doubles at the US Open in New York.
Seeded ninth, Routliffe and partner Aldila Sutjiadi of Indonesia beat Danish player Clara Tauson and American Anne Li 6-2, 6-2 in an hour and six minutes on court 10 in muggy conditions.
LATEST HEADLINES:
Routliffe and Sutjiadi were consitent in their play with just the one double fault, no aces, but only one unforced error in the whole match.
They'll face Janice Tjen (Indonesia) and Canadian Leylah Fernandez in the second round.
Routliffe won the title last year with Canadian Gaby Dabrowski following on from their triumph in the 2023
There's no confirmed schedule for the New Zealand men of Michael Venus and Indian Yuki Bhambri or Finn Reynolds and James Watt together in their first US Open.
