New Zealand driver Matt Payne has finished second in the final race of the weekend in Townsville to extend his lead in Supercars Championship.
Brodie Kostecki won the final race of the weekend at the NTI Townsville 500.

His winning celebrations were literally marked when he backed into the wall doing a victory burnout, much like Will Davison did in the same spot in 2013.
Twenty-three-year-old Payne and Mildura’s Cam Waters rounded out the podium.
Payne now leads Broc Feeney by 92 points in the championship standings, with Kostecki (-187) passing Waters (-195) for third in Townsville race.
The next best kiwi driver is Ryan Wood in eighth.
Supercars next races in Perth at Wanneroo Raceway, July 31-August 2.
