Northern Brave’s batting saw them move up the men’s Super Smash ladder. Brave’s total of 240-4 against the Canterbury Kings was the third highest total in Super Smash history.


The total was set up by a knock of 97 off 58 balls 10 fours and five sixes from opener Katene Clarke.

Brett Hamption supported Clarke making 61 from 23 as Seddon Park was pummelled by boundaries.


Canterbury's top order struggled with only a 42 by Lachie Harper down the order give the side any credit as they made 153-9.


The Brave’s women made it double trouble for Canterbury’s teams as they continued the Magicians’ misery after their four rounds, Brave winning by 105 runs.


Marama Downes had the remarkable figures of 4-11 from 3.5 overs.


The Magician’s total of 66 at Seddon Park was their second lowest in their T20 history (behind their 59/8 v Wellington Blaze in 2009/10).
